How to save Money on your computer: The student way!
First, I’d like to apologize for such a delay in posting folks. Finals are just now coming to an end. It is my personal goal to regain those who stopped reading my feed back and to provide even better material. This summer should be a blast for a lot of us. I’m looking forward to seeing how the economy will play out.
This posting is about a few ways I found out students can save on their computers.
1. Campus Stores tend to give discounts to students if they sell computers, make sure you ask about those specials! Also, there are manufacturers like Dell and Apple that give people student discounts when you purchase a notebook or desktop computer.
2. YOU HAVE TO CHECK THIS OUT! Campus computer stores will tend to offer their students expensive software for extremely inexpensive prices! For instance, Microsoft producs such as Office Suite and Operating systems Vista and XP for less then $20.00! Wow! I mean, if that isnt like a complete 190% markdown price then I don’t know what else to say!
Students, take advantage of this!
3. Patience! Purchase your computer from one of these places and wait until after you’ve become a student to do so. Some of these manufacturers will try and verify that you are a student.
4. And if you think you have found an awesome deal, just ask me, I’m computer savy and could tell you if you are getting the right bang for your buck!
5. Take a look at my posting on Building your computer and saving money!
I’m personally thinking of buying a Mac Book Pro this summer through my school discount and get all the software to make it a great sell to someone else down the road when I decide to upgrade. Why a Mac? Because they actually retain their value a lot better then PC’s. Its economics! There is a greater supply of PC’s in the market so the value of the product is diluted! So here are the three benefits of following the above stated (even for me):
Get an awesome computer at a relatively inexpensive price!
Get software that adds to the value of your computer!
Your sell price would be greater than you expected to sell it if you had not done the above stated.
Buy me a cup o' Joe!
