Today I’m going to focus on 1 Cronicles 29 versus 10-13: We have been made to believe that we are to give of what we have to the Lord but what are we really giving Him if it all belongs to Him already? One thing I always try and keep dear to my heart is that Money already belongs to the Lord, I’ve just been blessed with some of it and will do my part to give back what He asks of me in return for more blessings. The first step you must take before really looking at how to control your finances is to understand that God is in control and that all things belong to Him

David’s Prayer

10 David praised the LORD in the presence of the whole assembly, saying,
“Praise be to you, O LORD,
God of our father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.

11 Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.

12 Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.

13 Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.

- From 1 Cronicles 29:10-13

Wow! All I have to say is that David is awesome! Look at his delight in giving to the Lord and his delight in those who gave to the Lord. Imagine how much more God is filled with love and glee when we give Him what is holly unto Him and what is His to begin with? (We’ll study this in the second week more)

But as you see David’s prayer above, we understand one important fact that should always hold dear, and that is that “ALL THINGS ARE BELONG TO GOD (play on the famous “your base are belong to us” phrase)!” Guys, you have to really look at things this way! You must discipline yourself and know that all things are but blessings that God has put in your life! If you honestly believe that it is by your own strength and power that you have gotten where you are then look back to when you first struggled, when you first thought that things couldn’t get any more tough… Was it not by the good grace of God that an opportunity came along that got you back on your feet? Its always been the case for me, and I’m very thankful for His helping hand.

There have been many times in my life when I’ve made horrible decisions… I have to say, I’m glad he’s on my side! With Him on my side who can stand against me! I’ve always managed to, with his love and help, overcome all obstacles in my way! Glory to God because His is the kingdom of heaven and His is the honor, the glory, the power, and praise! There is no life outside of Christ. In my opinion, Life means nothing without faith in Christ!
Respectfully,

Tony Tovar

We will be looking closely at Jobs 38-41 Next time! God bless and I hope that you are enjoying our slow progression here. I’ll try and post on this Series more frequently. This weekend I was caught up with school work.

    Very good and timely post. With the economy tightening up it is easy to lose sight of Who is really in control and owns it all anyway.
